We are excited to kick off another fantastic season at Wigton Moor, welcoming returning families as well as many new faces joining our thriving football community. This year sees the launch of several newly established teams across various age groups, as our club continues to grow and provide opportunities for young players of all backgrounds and abilities.
Getting ready for a new season takes a team effort! Over the summer, our volunteers and coaching staff have worked hard behind the scenes—repairing pitches, securing kit partnerships, and organising fixtures—to ensure every squad is set for action.
Thank you to everyone—players, coaches, volunteers, parents, and supporters—who give their time and energy to make Wigton Moor such a special club. We wish all our teams a season of enjoyment, progress, and great football both on and off the pitch!
Our partnership with Farrelly’s is now fully in place as our new kit provider. Plans are underway to launch a club shop online, offering supporters and players an easy way to access official Wigton gear. Stay tuned for more updates and ordering details.
This year’s annual Wigton Gala was a tremendous success, bringing together both open teams and girls’ teams for an unforgettable weekend of football and community spirit. Thanks to all the volunteers and participants who made it possible, continuing a proud club tradition of celebration and friendly competition.
Preparations for the 2025 gala are well underway! Open teams from Under 7 to Under 13 and Girls teams from Under 8 to Under 14 are invited to enter. The gala promises great football and fun for all. Volunteers are warmly invited to help run what is always one of the highlights of our club’s calendar.
We celebrate the achievements of many Wigton Moor teams who recently qualified for the final stages of their cups and leagues. Well done to all players, coaches, and supporters for your commitment and success on the field.
The FA has introduced new regulations on youth football team sizes effective from the 2026-27 season. To prepare, Wigton Moor is forming a football committee that will work closely with coaches and parents to implement these changes and manage the impact on team structures and pitch allocations. More updates to follow.
To help maintain the excellent condition of our artificial pitches at Bodington Football Hub and Sports Park Weetwood, all spectators are kindly asked to stay within designated viewing areas during matches and training. This effort helps protect our surfaces and ensures player safety.
There is always something happening at Wigton Moor. From pitch care efforts to facility improvements, we keep working to enhance everyone’s experience. Please stay in touch via the usual club contacts for any queries or support needed.
The club proudly welcomes the formation of the new Girls U10 team, known as the Wildcats. They have already played several friendlies and joined the Harrogate & District Girls Junior Football League. Best of luck to the Wildcats on their exciting journey!
A new open age men’s team is planned to extend the Wigton Moor pathway, allowing boys to continue their footballing journey beyond junior football. The team will play friendlies before entering a league next season. More details will be shared soon.
We congratulate former Wigton Moor player Issy Stewart, who made her debut for Sheffield United Ladies earlier this season. Issy’s success is a proud moment for the club, reflecting the quality coaching and development within our ranks.
